Empower Through Flour is an all-female-powered initiative that was established by Lincoln-based pastry chef Angela Garbacz in March 2018 for Women's History Month; in 2020, NYC-based pastry chef Caroline Schiff joins the initiative as a co-founder. The month-long campaign brings together influential women from around the country to raise funds and spread the mission and message of Girl Up.
LoveLee Bakeshop and its owner Lee Mazor are so proud to be joining this initiative for a second year. The pastry chefs and bakeries involved were asked to create a special purple treat to sell in order to raise money for this great cause. We have decided to create a purple velvet cookie sandwich with cream cheese buttercream. They will be for sale in the bakery throughout the month of March. Help us raise money for this great organization while getting a delicious treat in return! A portion of profits from these cookie sandwiches will be donated to Girl Up through the Empower through flour initiative.
